Oh dear, a bit of a REALITY CHECK really...
For the past 18 months or so I have been Blogging, Yes I know you knew that, what you didn't know was that I was suppose to be doing my husbands Book work in my allocated computer time.
Well, it's finally all caught up with me....I told myself I would get it done before bub arrives as I will no doubt be busier than ever, so the countdown is on and everything has been put on hold while I sit and catch up on 'The Books' with no sneaking over to 'The Blog'
I'll have to be careful I don't accidentley sit over here...
I must discipline myself, get my real job done and then I'll be back, I promise...
(it won't take long, I'm a pretty fast on the old PC these days)
Do you manage your time Wisely or does your Blog distract you from your everyday duties.
What should you really be doing right now?
I'm meant to be getting the twins dinner right now, hmmm....so i totally understand where you are coming from...sometimes that pull away from reality really is very strong...but often good for the soul...i tell myself!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your paperwork...i am very envious of your lovely sewing area setup!!!
Yes Jode, I keep telling myself, it's good for the soul! How else would I cope!
DeleteI spend way too much time on here since blogging...I used to use the computer only for loading pictures of my items that I make to sell on my website. Now , Im afraid I am in need of a reality check as I am on here more often that I sew, which means no money coming in from my little business...plus my butt is getting bigger. When the kids went back to school I was meant to curb it big time...and I havnt. And I should...and I will.
ReplyDeleteAll in good time Suzanne, you do make some lovely tings to sell, but I'm glad you blog, because it's been lovely getting to know you...
DeleteTotally understand where you are coming from, I must get our books done too, BAS time next week...yikes...I have been trying to manage my time on the computer, but we are doing major renovations at the moment, so all of our furniture is in the entertainment area right now, so I don't have too many other things I can be doing anyway, and it's been raining outside all week. Our office is separate and all finished, but.....bookwork is boring.....
ReplyDeleteThats a good excuse Debra, if you can't do anything else then you may as well be blogging! :)
DeleteRIght now I should be cooking dinner, checking the chooks and unpacking school stuff. Instead I'm reading Gooseberry Jam while an alarm clock is ringing interminably and my son is ransacking the fridge. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteYep all that can wait!!and if you were't reading Gooseberry Jam you may not have even noticed what you were suppose to be doing anyway!!!
DeleteWhy was your alarm clock ringing?
Why did I feel like I'd just been caught doing something naughty????
ReplyDeleteThen I read all the above and had a good chuckle, cos I can relate to you all. I'm supposed to be getting dinner organised (although Friday night is always pizza night so easy peasy, just need to get that dough on), unpacking school bag, yes, checking chooks too, then it might just be wine o'clock me thinks!!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend :)
Ha, yes they are all putting a big smile on my face too...
DeleteI think we bloggers all think alike on this one!
Well instead of commenting on your blog I was going to finish washing the floor in the kitchen by the way I love your new kitchen.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend and the thing is dont get caught;)
Thanks Cathy, be nice if we never got caught, only thing is that it will always catch up on us!
DeleteSssh, don't tell anyone, I need to do our tax. I swear I'm not wasting time. Thanks for the laugh and good luck!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you too Alison, I'm waiting for that tax man to come knocking at my door any day now!
DeleteMy blog (and Facebook page, and Pinterest) help keep me going while I do my jobs! I just sit & revive myself, often with a drink, *then* keep going!! I do!
ReplyDeleteYour right miss dixiebelle, it can be a good reviver to have a break from work sometimes, It's all about finding the right balance.
DeleteWell, I am waiting for the eggs to cool down before I go out and feed them to the pigs. That is my excuse anyway. It is morning here and I allow myself an hour or so in the morning just to relax before I get to work.
ReplyDeleteDon't you forget those hungry pigs now becky... You know how you can get caught up jumping from one blog to the other... :)
DeleteBless you, we're all spinning plates aren't we? It's 10.30pm here, have been at work all day, then baking for 4 hours for my secret tearoom tomoro, also bunging the washing in, sorting the kids and (sneakily) having a glass of wine and speed-reading blogs. (And bitterly disappointed with self that didn't finish knitting tea cosy for tomorrow)
ReplyDeletex Lavender Attic
You sound busy busy busy Sally, that wine sounds like a good idea too...
DeleteIf only we all had another 24 hours in each day! :)
Your husband might not be happy with you but we are!! We all love the blog and I think that each of our lives would be a little poorer if we didn't share them with each other. so think of it as your community service if you like and as a social investment in the world (you can use the investment word with your husband and he'll think you've got your mind on the books...)
ReplyDeleteI like this comment Ms Bunny, and thank you. I have never looked at my blog like that, I like your use of words...community service, social investment.
DeleteUnfortunately doesn't pay the bills but it puts a huge smile on my face and warm fuzziness in my heart! : )
Isn't this the best kind of "payment" there is! I lived in Africa for a long time and I learnt about investing in people and the currency is all smiles and warmth :)
DeleteIt happens all the time! If only your and everyone elses blogs weren't so interesting!! Ha!!!
ReplyDeleteThats the problem Lisa, it's so hard to stay focused when there are much more interesting things one could be doing!
DeletePriorities, priorities... I wish I could say that I were as disciplined as I should be... but I've had to limit time on the PC too... too many good blogs (like yours) that catch my imagination... and inspire my thoughts... sometimes this simple life isn't so simple is it? I hear you and I stand with you sister - guilty as charged. Just way to many inspiring folk out there in the blogosphere. I've had to set down PC time as a 'treat' only if the chores set out for the day are done - that seems to work for me.
ReplyDeleteDistractions? What distractions???
ReplyDeleteLet's just concentrate on one thing at a time I think.
Day off today, so I should be ironing, cleaning, cooking.
What I am doing is blogging, reading blogs and trying to work out why my blog is not working?!? lol.
Have a great day Karen. Yours has always been one of my favourite distractions!
Thanks Wendy, One thing at a time never did work for me...
DeleteGood luck with the ironing!
Just rechecked your blog to see if 'anything' was happening. It was just ringing because somebody had been fiddling with the buttons on the bag so it rang until it rang out. Nobody seemed to care about the noise!
ReplyDeleteLooks like we are all the same, happy to put off the dull for the fun.
ReplyDeletewho invented bookwork anyway? yuck! If you can't do what you want when you're heavily pregnant there's something wrong.
ReplyDeleteLets blame the government!
DeletePregnant women should have more rights!
