Baby Quilting

I have been trying to complete a few unfinished projects this week and catch up on everything on my to do list. Now let me tell you, my to do list is going to do me until I die, sometimes it really does my head in, but if I take control and take one step at a time, complete one task at a time it's amazing how quickly the to do list can get done!
A Vintage Sheet Quilt for Little Laura  . . .   Finished  . . .
and she loves it!

It's not really a quilt but more of a patchwork throw rug,  she loves it anyway, and so do I.

  4. Ok this is just getting embarrassing now. You have, let me count, SIX children including a new born and you have time to throw together a quilt! I am feeling shamed that I have 1/3 the number of children and a stash of vintage sheets that are desperate to be turned into something like that beautiful quilt. Time to get to spotlight and purchase a rotary cutter me thinks. Gorgeous gorgeous fabrics and equally gorgeous baby. melx

  13. That quilt looks so easy to make ...but just gorgeous. Can you show us how you made it one day when you have time . ...I have a sewing machine and very little sewing ability, but I think I could make that one day with some good instructions.Baby is growing so quick, just beautiful.

    1. I'd love to post some instructions Kim but sorry I just don't have that time these days....I googled a simple / easy quilt patterns to get ideas for mine. I cut out fabric to make the pattern and sewed it row by row, then joined it together, then joined it to a blanket backing, just like a big doona cover. I then put in a half size doona for cushioning. Done!
I also used utube to get some ideas for sewing, there are some great tutorials on there. Happy quilting :)

  18. Love the throw. I made one for the big boys when they were babies that still gets dragged out but not with those lovely vintage patterns. I still can't bring myself to cut them up. The pink and white daisy next to Laura's dancing feet lives here in orange and black incarnations but I have never seen the pink. Pretty!

  19. Hi dear. Thanks for leaving a trail. I am so with you on your life mission. Although I have set a stop after 3 kids... :D Seeing your baby girl makes me miss the baby baby days. She is adorable. And that quilt is a smash hit! Where do you find your fabric? It is hard to find fab vintage sheets like that over here. See you around. I'll jump on your followers train to read more.
