  1. That is a great idea for a herb garden. Is there anything inside it or just the iron wall?
Your thyme is precious so it is lovely that you can display it in your schmicko new kitchen!

    1. Inside that iron wall Miss Annie is a big pile of dirt, sheep poop, chook poop and mulch... The wall holds it all together to produce masses of lovely fresh herbs and veg! :)

    1. Don't worry Racheal I started doing that to and thought there must be an easier way! The bag worked great, I just bashed it against the bench a few times to shake all the dried leaves off. Nice and clean too, bag pours straight into the bottle, no mess. :)

  4. I really like the look of herbs hanging to dry. I've often done this with basil and it works well too.

    1. I've not tried it with basil before Sarah, I must give it a go, I have new basil plants popping up everywhere in my garden at the moment.
I usually hang and dry oregano like this as well.

  5. I too will pick mine all off the stems just because I can't stand to leave any but then again thyme is our favorite and we never seem to get enough of it.

    1. I love thyme too, I've never had it growing so strong before it's lovely to be able to use it fresh. But good to keep dried for a rainy day!

  8. After you shake off the leaves you could use the stems in the BBQ ( I use wood coal) for flavoring meats.
    Just an idea.
    Great blog.

    1. What a great idea! Thanks Wench. I did toss the stems out, now that I think of it I could have even put them in the slow cooker with a casserole to get the last if the flavour out of them!

  10. Must smell great doing all that sorting. I only use the fresh stuff straight from the garden but it would make lovely gifts.
