The time has come, I think I am the only one in the whole WORLD that does not have a name for my chickens?
I still get my own children's names mixed up let alone trying to remember who's in the coop!
Each Week, One by One and with your help, I shall name my Chickens . . . Wanna Play . . .
All you need to do is "Name that Chook"
This is not a giveaway, there is no prize money, but if you have nothing better to do and want to play, it could be fun. What you will receive though is the satisfaction of knowing that you helped out a littleold middle aged muddled up mum and her feathered family who will all be forever grateful for your assistance and influence in fulfilling their identity and place within this family...
First up I have my white hen who wears a beautiful pale rust vest.

ReplyDeletePrincess Layer!
ReplyDeleteLady Gar-Gar
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love them all so far, keep them coming....How ever am I going to pick!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I mentioned that I have about 15 of these lovelies to name did I... :)
I love naming animals! Bring it on!
ReplyDeleteGloria Jean....?
ReplyDeleteBelle
ReplyDeleteK... as in a series of KF and C...
ReplyDeleteI love the Princess Layer and Lady Gar Gar! :D I would go with old names that no-one would usually call their children anymore. As I am not a native English speaker I am cautious about just giving you some names, as I don't know if they really are ancient enough, yet. You will know better than I what I am talking about! And using them for chooks keeps the names alive without feeling weird about using them on your loved-ones! Not that you don't love your chooks but, you know, they can't blame you for being made fun off!:D
ReplyDeleteIm with Belle...I always name my chickens something old fashioned, Maude, Mavis, Ethel, Valmai, Dawn, Daffney, Dorcus, Flo, actually, the ladies from my mums church are great inspiration, Margarent, Yvonne, Ethel, Jean, bless them all..............
ReplyDeleteYeah, I do love an old fashioned name ... Suzanne you've got some beauties there, I could name the whole coop from that, but then that would spoil my game...Ethel in particular is a name I have picked out for one of my Pekin Bantams, I'll put them up next week.
ReplyDeleteOhhh great game, I think she looks like a Delia or Daphney.
ReplyDeleteAudrey. Beatrice...she is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWell I allways dreamed of having chickens and if one of them was white I would call her Miss Havisham from the book Great Expectations.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! My daughter is here smiling at the pictures, and so my suggestion is to name the chicken after her: Tilly. Short for Miss Matilda Featherbottom.
