or HAIL ?
We like to do things just a little different here in Qld,
Freak Hail Storms are all the rage at the moment!
This happened just the night before last, it was very exciting at the time but I didn't realize just how damaging these little balls could be until I walked around the garden this morning....
It Shredded the Lettuce
Feathered the Banana Leaves
Pelted the Papaya
and Snapped it's Branches,
Shattered the Citrus
and Mangled the Mulberries
RIP dear baby cucumber. . .
I have been quite unimpressed with myself for not having my veggie garden up and running yet but Today I am grateful for not having a winter crop. It would have been massacred.
On the up side of things though, we get
Super Large Slushies for the kids...
Oh wow, that is crazy!! Look at your beaten up vegetables, they didn't stand a chance!! It does look like snow, we got sleet here in April in Canberra & amazing snow falls in the mountains all through May, the world has gone crazy. 1st day of Winter & it was sunshine, mild day, weirdo!! Love Posie
ReplyDeleteWell I guess the Beautiful One day .. slogan can't be true (and that comment from a Queenslander!) Lucky no major damage I'd say. Your poor garden though.
ReplyDeleteBring it on QLD! I remember a similar thing happening a few years ago, and it was one of the most bizzare things I've ever seen - what looked like snow slush in the gutters as I was driving home from work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful one day, ummm interesting the next??
Look at the size of that hail...I have never seen anything quite like it.
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been pretty unpredictable this year hasn't it but hail storms in winter? Sorry your garden got damaged it's not nice to see when you put so much time into growing.
ReplyDeleteoh no not mangled mulberries!! my parents got some crazy hail here in brisbane yesterday too - but where i work on the other side of town it didn't even rain! crazy brisbane winters...
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! I can't believe that hail, I have never seen it so big before. Your poor, poor garden:(
ReplyDeleteMiss Moo Moo wants to know, how are the chickens?
ReplyDeletexo
Terrified! Miss Moo Moo, I might add that a few little people inside this house were also hiding under their blankies...and as for the sheep, I don't think they were even smart enough to run for cover!!! :)
