All feathers and frills for the show....They certainly look the part don't they! Just between you and me though, they much prefer a good old Barn Dance.
I busted them on the deck yesterday....

Now come on little ones IN two, three, four, OUT two, three, four...
Thanks for playing, I can't wait to see what names you come up for these two Fancy Entertainers.
LAST WEEKS WINNERS
Such great names you all came up with again... but there were two that really stood out to me. My dear little Pekins will now and forever be known as Gwendolyn and Gladys
Many thanks to Hazel
Gwendolyn
Very fitting, she has this certain elegance and poise to her, reminds me of a good family friend with the same name.
Gladys (Gladdy)
I had an elderly lady that lived next door to me when I was growing up, her name was Gladdy. I very clearly remember the day I lost control of the Ride on Mower, I jumped off and watched it plough straight into her fence, I'll never forget the look on her face as she peered at me through her kitchen window. . .Yeh, and then she told my DAD!
I have some very fond and funny memories of her, This little chooky will keep those memories around for a while longer now.
Miss Gladdy has some very exciting news to share with you....
First borns....just hatched this morning, So as not to waste any of these beautiful names that you have come up with, I will name these little peeps in order from last weeks comments.
The cute little Yellow one will be Rita. Thanks Smiley Mum
The little Black one will be Ava and the Red Stripy at the back will be Anias, thanks Suzanne
You would have noticed there are still about four eggs under her ready to pop open anytime now, they will be introduced to you real soon. I also managed to sneak four eggs under Gwendolyn last week, so Yes she will become a Mum, and all that sitting will be worth it.
Are you playing The Game ?
Gorgeous, I only wish I could lay my hands on some of these gorgeous breeds...my boring little white ones are running around the back looking dull and boring compared to these absolute beauties, I think the names Fabian and Estelle for this ballroom dancing pair....
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, you've got some great names so far. I like Fandango and Fantasia for his lively partner.
ReplyDeleteWhat beauties, perhaps Don Juan and Gabriella, they certianly have got some moves on the dance floor.
ReplyDeleteGreat game Karen. How about "Brewster" and "Sparkle" (as in Tina Sparkle from Strictly Ballroom).
ReplyDeleteI was going to say Fred and Ginger but she ain't no Ginger (Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers)
ReplyDeleteWhat about Tennessee and Waltz after the dance.
Brain strain now, will go away and think some more.
We dont name our chooks...too many and most look the same.
How about Fred and Astaire? They really are beautiful boys!
ReplyDeleteWhat about Lorraine (hen) and Gilbert (rooster)?
ReplyDeleteOoh - goodie! What good names people have suggested. We need an online registry for excellent chooky names.....
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion - some good old fashioned Germanic names suitable for such lovely hamburgs such as these.....
Henrik and Floretta
Cindarella & Christopher. They are the names of the Princess and Prince in Cindarella! (of course, isn't it a bit obvious?) or something like that. A beautiful pair!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Villa Tyscani is the same as Fox Meadows!
